Psalm 9:7-10 – “But the LORD abides forever; He has established His throne for judgment, and He will judge the world in righteousness; He will execute judgment for the peoples with equity. The LORD also will be a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. And those who know Your name will put their trust in You, for You, O LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You.”
We declare that the LORD, YAHWEH is the one true God, and He is Lord over Allgood, Alabama. Lord, we humbly submit this small town to Your Sovereign plan. Line this town up under Your righteousness, and let Your justice reign. We thank You and praise You that there is no partiality with You – “there is neither Jew nor Greek.” And so we trust in Your righteous decrees and judgments.
Father, You know how sensitive the immigration issue is here in Alabama, and with almost half the population in Allgood being Hispanic, I’m sure this issue is very much in the forefront for them. Father, You see all and You know all. We pray that Your righteous plan would be made evident for ALL the people of Allgood. We pray that You would protect those who are being oppressed as You shelter them. May this sensitive issue, and those who suffer because of it find refuge in You. We pray that the righteous laws of this land would be held up, but not in a way that dishonors Your holy name. You are the only one who can sort out where the law runs out and where grace comes in. You’ve done it for every single one of us who know You, and so we trust You to do it in this situation, too.
We pray that Allgood would be a town that becomes known for doing good to and for ALL people. Let them be known as a city that loves You and executes Your righteous judgments for the people. May the church in Allgood be a place of shelter and refuge for ALL who need it.
In Your righteous name, we pray. Amen.
**We know this is a sensitive issue. As you respond, try to fast from your opinions and ask the Lord to give you the prayers of the Spirit.**
