Speaking a Blessing for Morris, Alabama

I am so very thankful for our awesome researcher, Ginny! In addition to her full-time job as a reading specialist in a local public school, she goes above and beyond my expectations to find out the history on the towns and cities we pray for. These histories and background information can be very hard to come by, and she goes to great lengths to dig it up. Thank you, Ginny, for all you do!

Psalm 115:1 – “Not to us, O LORD, not to us, but to Your name give glory because of Your lovingkindness, because of Your truth.
Verses 13-15 – “He will bless those who fear the LORD, the small together with the great. May the LORD give you increase, you and your children. May you be blessed of the LORD, maker of heaven and earth.”

O Lord God, You are the maker of all that we see, and all we do not see. You alone deserve all the glory. Thank You for Your covenant love and mercy that redeems us from our sin by Your Son’s death and resurrection. You are true, and Your Word is truth. What a comfort and a blessing to be able to cling to Your truth when we are bombarded by so many voices.

Lord, we pray for the town of Morris, and ask that You would bless this town. Reveal Yourself to them in Your truth and Your mercy. Let them be blessed to know You as a covenant-keeping God. Let them be blessed to have a holy fear of Yahweh, the One True God. Cause the people of Morris to turn from every wicked way and embrace the truth of who You are and the salvation that You bring.

We pray a blessing for Mayor Pylant and all those who help lead Morris. Bless them with wisdom, discernment, courage, strength, grace and peace. Bless them with salvation. Bless their families and all that concerns them personally. Bless them when they go out and when they come in. Cause Your face to shine upon them as they fear Your name.

Lord, we pray that You would bless the mothers and the fathers in Morris; bless the children; bless the grandparents; bless the teachers and social workers; bless the police officers and all first responders; bless the businessmen and -women; bless the manual laborers; bless the pastors; bless the Church in Morris..

Your blessing sets us apart and makes us holy unto You. It sets us in alignment with the purposes and plans You have for us. It can cause quite the upheaval, and yet bring great peace and joy. Thank You for Your blessing on Morris.
